1. Open Outlook:
- If you're using Outlook for the first time, it might prompt you to set up an email account right away.
- If you have already been using Outlook and want to add another account, click on

3. Choose Manual Setup or Additional Server Types:

4. Choose Service:

or whichever service type you desire. ClickNext

5. Fill in User, Server, and Logon Information:
- Your Name: The display name for your emails.
- Email Address: Your full email address.
- Account Type: Depending on your email provider, select either IMAP or POP3.
- Incoming mail server: Given by your email provider (e.g., imap.gmail.com for Gmail).
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Also given by your email provider (e.g., smtp.gmail.com for Gmail).
- User Name: Your full email address.
- Password: The password for your email account.
6. More Settings:
- Click on the
More Settings
button. - Outgoing Server Tab: Check
My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
. ChooseUse same settings as my incoming mail server
. - Advanced Tab: Input the details as provided by your email provider. For instance, the default incoming ports are
993
for IMAP (using SSL) and995
for POP3 (using SSL). The default SMTP port is465
(using SSL). Adjust these according to your email provider's instructions.
7. Test Account Settings:
- Before proceeding, you can click on
Test Account Settings
to make sure everything is set up correctly. If there are any errors, you'll be informed, and you can make the necessary changes.
8. Complete Setup:
- Click
Next
and thenFinish
to complete the setup. Your email account should now be added to Outlook.
9. Adjust Folders (if IMAP):
- If you’re using IMAP, your email folders from your server should sync with Outlook. If you can’t see them, right-click on the account name in the left pane, and select
Update Folder List
.
